The Pygmy scale exerts an irresistible charm, its name derives from the African musical tradition of the Pygmy people. This scale is very mystical and meditative, is inspired by a return to its origins, the primordial nature, and ones strongest instincts.
 
This handpan has a sequence of 16 notes that create a musical universe with the Ding  (in C).
The Pygmy scale is very versatile. It is sometimes called the "day and night" scale as it offers a double possibility of sound worlds: major and minor. All notes can be played together to create distant moods and atmospheres, without paying attention to which notes to play as all notes will be part of both scales.
 
The Pygmy Handpan is part of a family of scales called "Mutant" and has 11 notes on the upper shell. The two smaller notes positioned in the imaginary eyes of this instrument. The remaining 5 notes are located on the bottom shell.
 
The powerful energy of the Pygmy Handpan recreates a very intense and distinct atmosphere that makes it very popular among handpan lovers. It is certainly a typical scale of this instrument that makes it perfect both for those who start playing and for those who are already professionals of this instrument.
